| Ok, so Im finally upgrading . Now Ive heard the Athlon 64 4000+ Sandy has one extra multiplier as opposed to the 3700+. Is this worth the extra $90 or so? I probably wont be overclocking right away, but I will be in the future. Im fully aware of the fact that the Optys are the way to go for overclocking, but Im getting a deal on one of the formentioned processors from a friend. Out of those two, which one should I get? Can one easily hit 2.8-3.0GHz with the 3700+? | ||

| it depends on the core they are made from, a 3700+ San Diego will probably do better than a Clawhammer 4000+ I'd say save the 90$ and get the 3700+ the extra multiplier would only be worth it if you are limited on the FSB by your motherboard. Most Rev E San Diego cores will hit 2.6~2.8GHZ ![]() | ||
