| Once again I need adive. I currently have an eVGA 6800 GT e-pci video card and I was wondering whether I should get a second 6800 gt so I can run SLI or get a single 7800 to replace the 6800. Also, while I'm posting; my brother is looking for a 19 inch LCD for gaming. Have any suggestions? Thanx! | ||

Get another 6800GT. I have EVGA 7800GT's and to be honest spend less than the amount of money that you would on a single 7800GT on another 6800GT and get 150% the performance of a single 7800GT with two 6800GT's. BTW get a BenQ or Samsung 4-8ms 19" LCD for around $300 for gaming. My buddy has a benq 19" with 8ms and its beautiful. I personally like samsung though; i used to have a 17" samsung with 12ms response time and it was great, but I wanted bigger so i got a 30" plasma. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Sell the 6800GT, and get a 7800GTX. The GTX will be as fast, if not faster, than dual 6800GT's. For LCD's, take a look at Hyundai's offerings. For the price, they are excellent. Viewsonic, Samsung, or Sony are what I would recommend if you have some extra $$$. | ||

| Apex Tech Fanatic | Get the viewsonic one; I highly recommend Viewsonic aswell as Samsung and Benq. Totally forgot about Viewsonic for a moment there, and besides the price is right. BTW a single 7800GTX will not be faster than two 6800GT's. I promise you that. Comparing stock to stock two 6800GT's will have a leading edge on a single 7800GT or 7800GTX. I'm running dual 7800GT's right now and they're only 50% better than running dual 6800GT's. I'm on par with two 6800 Ultra's though but hell I paid less. Seriously best bang for your buck is getting another 6800GT under $300 than buying a single GTX for $450-550. | |
