| I really don't know where to post this type of info but i was browsing thru the messageboards and some of you have Tsunami Dream cases maybe you could help me out. I have a tsunami case, the motherboard ima purchase is a Asus A8N SLI deluxe, will i have any problems running 2 Videocards in the case? cause of the lack of room with the hdd cages and all. I seen some users with there nvidia 6800 & up cards installed but the hardrive are installed at the bottom for more room. Sadly i have 2 HDD's so i was hoping i would have space so everything can fit perfectly. So i hope yall can help me Thanks in Advance. | ||

| Don't have that case but I looked it up on the 'Net. There should be enough room, even for 6800 class cards... It's easy. Just go to the website of the graphics card manufacturer you want to buy a card from, check the lenght of the card & then measure the lenght between the back of the case & the hdd cage... TDR | ||

| The worst case scenario, you might have to look at getting a 5.25 bay HDD cooler. I'll be finding out about moving a pair of 7800GTXs into a smaller case here in a few days... But the wife has a 6800GT in her PC60, and there's plenty of room (I know, diff case, but about the same size, right?) | ||

Could be same size, but chassis config could be different.

| I haven't bought any other hardware just yet, i just bought the case so i was just wondering if it would fit. I do have hardware from my old pc that i will transer to my new pc RAM HDD etc.... but i will get back to the "Space" situation like The Dragon Reborn said a 6800 series card should fit in fact i seen some another brand of a 7800 it was about the size of a 6800 series and it looks rather smaller. I might another brand of the 7800GT series it might be a crappier brand Though. and that could be bad but im not to familiar with videocard brands since i've been using ATI since i bought my computer. But anyway i have another question, the tsunami case i bought doesn't have any type of internal speaker built in. So i was wondering do any of you know if the ASUS A8N SLI deluxe have a speaker built in? so i can hear post beeps(i think thats what its called) i would like to be informed whenever i encounter into any trouble. So this is my first and only build i think i know what i have to do first. So anyway i appreciate you all helping me answer my questions. | ||

| I have the Tsunami Dream case and have had it for some time. I don't run dual vid cards, I am sure that you will not have a problem with it. Im not looking right now, but I think there are either 5 or 6 HDD slots, meaning you can always use the top 2 to save space. I have my vid card installed on the same height as my HDD to better airflow, and there is still enough room in-between them to plug both of them in. The Asus A8N SLI deluxe is a standard size ATX mobo, so you should have enough room to get it all in there. Good luck buddy. | ||

| Oh okay i was asking since the hard drives where gonna be lowered i thought maybe i should of bought longer IDE ribbons too but its good that i don't, i have another question i really hate asking questions after questions but. You the only person i know with a Tsunami Dream case. Do i have to buy Y splitter cable for the fans to run in the case. i noticed look like you have to connect them to a power supply i dont know. if i will have enough ATA power connectors in my Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W power supply. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | Coincidentally, I am about to start on building my new computer, and I had already decided on the exact same power-supply, and case. I had already looked into this, I am pretty sure that the True-power II includes a special "fan-only connector" that is thermally controlled. I know that this can connect up to three fans (the same number of fans in the tsunami case)... If you want an uncontrolled line, I am unsure of the other connectors... Sorry to interupt... I hope that helps..... Tomokatsu | |

| No your not interupting actually you just reminded me what i was about to post about the power supply since i will be ordering it this week, will the Power Supply be compatable with a Asus A8N SLI deluxe Mobo cause i noticed the 12v 4-pin connector on it i think that what its called. So i was wondering if the Power supply had one of those before i spend my money on something that i cannot use. ![]() | ||

| Hi Top Vicious! Let me start out by saying i own the A8N SLI deluxe MB. The power supply you have chosen is a good choice for this system. It has all the connectors needed to fire this board up. Including the 2 pci-e video card connectors for running sli or not. So you wont need to buy any adapters to plug in and lose a molex connector. As for your fans.....Are they 3 or 4 pin connectors? You might want to consider looking for a fan controller. Of course that's dependant on how many fans your trying to hook up. Most 4 pin connector fans come with a male and female molex connectors so you can just add it to one of your molex connectors without sacrificing a connector. As for the video card not fitting in that case. I went to www.newegg.com and checked out the customer reviews on that case. People listed their 7800gtx ,850xt's fitting in there with no issues. So that's a good thing for you. Overall i have to say that i love the A8N SLI Deluxe MB. The only issue this board has is the annoying 8000 rpm chipset fan. I dont know if asus has addressed this issue since this fan was failing prematurely. Before i converted to watercooling i took that annoying fan out and replaced it with a passive heatsink that fits nicely between the two video cards if you decide to go sli. If you'd like to know how to do the conversion. Let me know...... Otherwise TC Rockin'male ![]() | ||

Hey thanks for your help man ! Now for SLI i will go SLi but i might just get 1 card for right now i really haven't bought any other HW yet but i will use my RAM from this comp to the new one and a Seagate Ultra ATA 200GB HDD,speakers, monitor and mouse and some other cards like my Audigy 2 etc.. i don't know i might get a 7800GT don't think i can afford a 7800GTX just yet. I got some random questions about the Tsunami case since the manual is kinda weak it doens't tell you how to move the four legs out to the side i didn't mess with them i didn't want to break them lol so i ask for help first before i do so. Second is when i install a DVD Drive into the 5.25 inch bay how to i take it out if i want to upgrade to another dvd drive? cause look like once the rails are in there they look like it might be permanent. Hope im not asking too many questions. Thanks for your help again man. ![]() Last edited by Top ViciouS; 30-December-05 at 11:00 PM..

The feet on the Tsunami swivel outwards (atleast I'm pretty sure)... As far as the 5 1/4 bays, the drives can definately be pulled out, you just need to open the second door, squeeze the releases(the tips of the two rails), and pull. Its actuallty one of the better tooless systems out there...... (don't worry about asking too many questions )-- Tomo --

| Oh okay ima write some of this stuff down so i wont forget thanks, I have a Question about the EZ Plug on the Mobo do i connect a cable from the power supply to it? cause i was getting more research on it the other day. And i was wondering what that is, i know its for when you install dual vid cards. and i was reading how it wouldn't work for some people cause of there powersupply. And thanks for your help again. You are correct the ez plug needs to be attached when running dual card configuration. Otherwise there's no need to add the molex connector there. Plus dont forget about the sli card in between the pci-e slots needs to be set for single or dual card. As for thinking about the question that it wouldnt work with their power supply. The only thing that crosses my mind is their powersupply didnt include the 6pin pci-e connectors to attach power to the video cards. Which is remedied by buying the adapter for it. So in your case the psu has these connectors already built into the psu so you wont need any adapters. I hope that helps...... Oh and by the way: If this is going to be a gaming rig. Go straight to 2GB of ram. Especially if your going to BF2. You'll get better performance with two sticks than filling up all 4 slots. Then again im looking at this from an overclockers point of view. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

Hmmm.... So i need to buy an adaptor to plug into the EZ plug connector? cuz the molex cable don't go there???? sorry i think im kinda lost lol. ![]() Also i do play alot of BF2 i will get around 2gb or more like you said sad thing is i dont think the ram i have in this computer will work i have 1.5gb ram its PC3200 184-pin.

| Apex Techie Lite | Your old RAM should work if it is PC3200... But, you may want to upgrade. What are the actual number of sticks, and their respective capacities... Since the board is DDR, you could use 4x 512MB and be fine, but I would recommend a pair of single gigabyte sticks (like rockin'male said)... they are not that expensive now. As far as the plugs go, from what I read from the SLI deluxe manual, (I have the SLI premium) the one you circled is not the "EZ plug" instead, the "EZ plug" is below the motherboard IO ports, just above the first video card PCI-E slot... The "EZ Plug" is actually just a molex plug, that is used to help power the motherboard. The plug that Rockin"male was refering to is the PCI-E power cables. You do not need to worry, as your power supply does include a pair of these. Hence, there is no need to buy additional adapters... Last edited by tomokatsu; 01-January-06 at 10:06 AM.. | |
