The 6800GS is the best bang for buck GPU out there for now. It also falls under the category of midrange/enthusiast instead of budget. With a little overclocking the 6800GS kicks the plain 6800 and takes on the 6800GT.

6800GS, there can be no doubt... but like stated, that's a midrange card :-)
No seriously, I can't see how you can go wrong with this card unless you play fps games
at 1600x1200 with everything maxxed...

I'm very familiar with PNY and have been using their products for a long time. I actually have the PNY Verto 6600GT AGP and it works great for me.

You can get it much cheaper at Newegg.com: Link

Gigabyte and Evga are fine companies to get this card from.

PNY Verto is a very reputable brand. PNY is renowned for great PC memory, and they have had a decent market share for several years. I don't think you would be disappointed with that card. Happy Chanukkah btw.

There are also BFG and eVGA, they make good vid cards as well...

Basically, it's the no-names that you need to be wary of.

One thing that helped me pick my cards at NE was the listed speeds, ie: core and mem speeds. I can't remember the specific models, but one was like $50 more than the other, and the cheaper one had better speeds overall (both were from well-known manufacturers)
