usb drive for ram??

Question, If u stick in one of those usb drives is there a way of using it like ram???
I know it's prolly a stupid question but I had to ask.

Nope But you can use it as a Drive to boot an OS.

you can use it as virtual memory (basicly like ram but on your HDD)
insert USB memory thing (or any external HDD like device) go to system, performance settings, advanced, change virtual memory, select your external memory device, set page file size, apply, done

But wouldnt that be an incredible performance hit?
I mean you'll be limited to the slower bus/interface ,compared to the quicker ATA or SATA drive interface and drives.
