Look Out for New Egg Hickups

My friend fried his vid card and mobo, and was looking at replacing, so ordered a combo off new egg. he was asking for mobo advice, cause he wasn't sure if his vid card would fit it(he already replaced the vid card). Heres the mobo he went with. and he went with this combo(had to replace ram to to ddr3). he figured, might as well step up to a quad as well, and can anyone see anything wrong with that combo. I didnt notice it till he told me it wasnt compatible. now he has to try and return it and hes getting another proc, and i feel like an ass cause i didnt notice it when i said it was a good setup.

the motherboard only supports am3 and the processor is a am2+

Yea looks like they have the combo backwards because i think you can run a am3cpu on a am2+board with ddr2.

You are correct. AM3 CPU's also have AM2+ controllers.
