| Just need some advice on picking what i should get, i plan to SLI my current 9600gt but having trouble choosing wich mobo, My current budget is $500, here are my choices. Asus Striker II Formula($350) + Gigabyte 9600Gt($131) = $481or Asus P5N-D($180) + Gigabyte 9600gt($131) = $311 (and maybe a Good quality PSU or Case) The only concern is that the P5N-D only supports 800Mhz DDR2 ram and i recently bought some 1066Mhz ram so would my current ram be usable in the P5N-D. I don't mind running it at 800Mhz but i would like to know if it is usable. Also how is the overclocking on the 750i chipsets? If you guy's don't think SLI is worth it these are my choices of a single GPU solution 9800GTX $283 or 4870 $380 or GTX260 $410 Last edited by xplod; 15-September-08 at 06:40 AM.. | ||

| Sempr0n? | Definitely just go with a Radeon 4870. It's as quick as the GeForce GTX280 in some games, and it means you don't have to change your motherboard to a sub-par Nvidia 780i board. Make sure you get a decent PSU though. Newegg.com - PALiT AE=4870S+0452 Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies Comes in at $350. | |

Newegg.com - PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies And This one is also 20% off on the price you see aswell! matt | ||
