I recall for a while at least a year or two ago, you could get a variety of very old school full towers (obviously designs from the very beginning of the ATX era) for very cheap-- like $20 or less-- like where the postage outweighed the cost of the case.

A search through the deals forum seems to show most of these offers-- and many of the sites they appeared on-- gone.

I'd sort of like another "project" case-- one I can work on without worrying about cramming it back full of hardware every time I need to use my PC, one made really shoddy so it's easy to cut up, and a big full tower (because I'm openly compensating... check out my extended-ATX case baby ).

Are there still such deals to be found?

I was going to buy the one mentioned in http://www.forumapex.com/deals_and_s...tml#post574244, but between two days ago and today, it finally disappeared from the site. I had already looked it up and it was 16.00 plus 17.50 for postage
