| Hey guys, just looking for a generalized opinion.. I feel like I'm paying for the step up program with the evga 8800gts cards because they're 50 bucks more than the msi cards.. If I can save myself 100 bucks by buying msi cards, I really want to, I'm just curious are the msi boards a more generic board? Like I want to spend my money on quality items, not generic kinda stuff.. I'm worried about drivers also.. So all in all money aside, what would you do? I'm doing 8800gts sli Thanks so much! | Although I've never owned an MSI video card, I've owned several of thier motherboards and never had a complaint about them. Also looking at the spec's the MSI has a very slight lead over the EVGA ** just by the spec's on newegg** | ||

| The difference in graphics cards these days of the same type is minimal. The PCB is usually exactly the same, the only difference between cards being the heatsink (some companies leave it factory standard, others add their own aftermarket designs) and/or the clock frequencies/memory. I generally always buy the cheapest no name card on offer, it makes no difference. Ive never seen the point in having good customer service from a graphics card manufacturer, Ive always just RMA'd any defective/dying cards straight back to my favorite retailer (OcUK). No need to worry about drivers, as I said, the cards are all pretty much exactly the same (different heatsinks and stickers have no effect on compatibility ) | ||
