I am having a strange problem here. My friend who currently lives with us plays his Xbox360 online using a wireless 54G connection to our router.
I setup all the encryption bells n' whistles and security glitter in the router except for MAC Filtering. The 360 is what is preventing this from happening. Awhile ago I attempted to enable MAC filtering by entering the MAC address printed on the 360. I verified this was the correct address by viewing what it was reporting to the router. After attempting this last security measure, the 360 was unable to even recognize a wireless network with the given SSID. I just threw my hands up at that time and gave up. I just tried again last night while the 360 was powered on and connected to the internet and it actually worked for the remainder of the night, until this morning when the unit was powered back on and failed to connect from a cold boot. This is not a router issue. Every other wireless device that is currently enabled, or has been enabled in this house (Basement
PC before it went wired, PSP, Ect...) works fine with MAC filtering enabled. It's this stupid 360. In fact, Just last night I had to shut off the DHCP in our router and assign every device in the house static IP addresses because whenever the 360 had been inactive for more than a day or so, it would fail to reconnect and I would have to go through a voodoo ritual while chanting strange incantations and swinging a chicken over my head to get the router to accept it back. Again, a 360 isolated issue for wireless (and wired) devices.

I REALLY FRIGGIN HATE this platform. It is IMO, now and always will be the apittomy of rushed disasters and technological flops in the magical realm of consoles. I hate this stupid thing so much I would much rather setup a booth out on my front lawn and hand out flyers explaining why owning one is a bad idea than spend 5 minutes playing it. In fact I hate them so much, I would rather take the $400 it would cost me to buy one, and spend it on supping up my good ol' dreamcast

Anyone have any clue what's going on here?
