| Apex Techie II | Just as the title says. Which would be the best "bang for the buck"? Planning on getting one w/ tax refund, but not sure which would be the best buy. The only ganes I play right now are the Battlefield series and will be getting COD4 soon. My specs, if needed are: asus p5n32 sli se deluxe 2gb ocz gold evga 7900gtx C2D 6400 cooled w/ ultima 90 Wil also be upgrading the PSU to a pc p+c silencer 610 | |

| I'd go for a 8800GT, but only with the newer 70mm fan and not the old 60mm screamer. 512MB of RAM would be best, some tests I read said that 1GB of RAM was overkill and couldn't be utilized fast enough to warrant the increased price. | ||

| Sempr0n? | You should expect around double the performance from an 8800GT 512mb. hwbot.org - Compare Hardware It's a great card. | |

| Hello injuneer1i just bought a GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card from Newegg for $239.99 free shipping and installed it a couple days ago and i can say this thing rocks for performance, i am not much of a tech when it comes to telling what is good or bad but i will say this about it made the video card i had before look like it was on the back burner comparing the speeds and performance for playing games like COD4 the graphics are just unbelievable.. If your wonder what video card i had before it was EVGA 7800GTX KO 256MB PCI-e which i be using in another pc. | ||

If you compare the GT and the GTX on the site Reflux linked, the GT outscores the GTX.

| Apex Techie Lite | The GTX would blow away a gt, but for the price, the gt's are actually pretty sweet. I have one in my other computer at home and it runs like a tank on Battlefield 2142. Usually around 40-60 fps. I'd say if you are on a limited budget, no doubt go for the gt! | |

Regardless of whatever HWBot says, the GTX is the superior card. It has more shaders, more memory and a better memory interface.

| Apex Techie Lite | The rendering on the GTX is basically unsurpassed. A single GTX can run any game on high settings. Even the gt's, however, can run games on good settings. Honestly, for the price, you should go with the gt. And heck, get 2 for the price of 1 gtx and throw em in SLI ![]() | |
