Need a rack. Any ideas?

I am setting up my own little Cisco network 'lab'. I have searched a bit on Google, but am not finding what I need. Could be the beer I am drinking while we are planning our Super Bowl PARTY! LOL.

I need a 19" or so rack that will hold at least 2 routers, and one or 2 switches. It will be Cisco stuff, got one router now, one switch ordered, so I want this kinda soon. I was going to build one, but my skills in that area are not that good...

Rack stuff is beyond my experience.

If you want to go the el-cheapo route I would suggest local ebay auctions, craigslist, and any kind of university. Schools tend to have surplus and auctions on old gear. Or you could simply build one macgyver style out of angle iron.

Beg on craigslist in the computer section. Maybe take a 42U and cut it down ...

Back on topic: We make standards (the metal rails you screw into walls) and brackets (the shelf supports) that would work for you assuming you don't mind it attached to your wall rather than free standing.

I would suggest checking out any PC recycling and surplus stores that you have in your area. I know around here I have seen several racks for sale at those types of places. Plus you never know what other good stuff you might be able to find.

give me some time and ill be chopping my server rack down. ill gladly ship the remains to you as long as you cover shipping, and my wife will love you for helping to get rid of more computer shiz

Thanks TCG_Modder. Let me know what the approximate cost will be for shipping. I have been thinking about ways to build one, but while my ideas are pretty good, the end result is usually ugly as hell...
