Question Re: Motherbored Issue

i, myself, have a gigabyte board (one of the bargain P35'ers w/o SLI or 1394) and it too acts kinda wonky when i reset or restart it (likes to power completely down, spin the fans and lights up, power down again, dead silence for about 3 secs, then power up like a champ, but it never fails to start up and is rock stable, so i just write it off as part of the "normal" operation of the boards...perhaps part of some failsafe mechanism for overclocking or POST'ing?

does this sound similar to your problem in any way?

I have a gigabyte in my home computer and it has the same problem. Every few times I boot up, it kinda hiccups and has to reboot itself. maybe it's just a gigabyte thing? I'm not sure, but it seems like everyone is having that problem. Gigabyte is really solid once the mobos get up and running, I agree. do you have a random mobo sitting around that you can test on your compy? I did that and everything ran fine, so i knew it was just my gigabyte one.

I think its a built in part of some newer boards , cuz my Biostar board does it too. When i O/C I hit F10 to save bios , it reboots , shuts off then boots up again and starts.

I have an MSI p6 platinum in my compy here and it hasn't done anything like that yet. It's a weird problem. I figured it was the brand, but you said it does it on yours too... Not really sure what's going on... Honestly though, if it doesn't hinder you too greatly, I wouldn't worry about it.
