Default Wifi Advice - Getting Better Signal

Hey -

I am looking to either goose up the Adapter I have now a , Linksys WMP54GX, or get something new and better. Right now I only get two signals the one in my house and the one right next door but if I move it a around (as much as I can with it short lines) I can get up to 6 more signals but they are low.

So can I make what I have work better? or is there something that will get me better signal but won't fry my brain?

Thanks

Generally there are two ways to get a better signal. One is to boost the signal power at the router, but since you don't tell what router you are using, it's difficult to give advice on that part.

The second is to get a better antenna for your PC. There are numerous third party antennas that you can connect to a wireless adapter.

Hi -

Sorry about not posting the router info it did not even enter my mind but since I don't want to get a better signal from my router, which I already get at over 90%, and want to get better signal from "outside" I kind of didn't see the point in doing so.
