| Apex Techie Wannabe | Hey guys. Just got a simple question. I'm not very well-versed on the ins and outs of computer parts, but I came across this on Newegg when shopping around and was wondering if anyone could explain it to me. The E6700 is $317 (Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail) meanwhile the E6850 is $309 (Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail). I was trying to figure out why the latter is cheaper than the one that would appear to be beneath it in processing power. Anyone explain it to me? Thanks . | |

| Personally, I would get the E6700. X10 multiplier for the win. If your not overclocking then get the E6850 it is faster at stock. They'll have very similar max overclocks but I reckon it would be slightly easier with the E6700. | ||

Actually those E6850s have been doing 4Ghz+ on air and have hit 4.5Ghz on just water. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
