Default Laptop Advice

Hey Guys

I was looking for a laptop for college and I think I found my match I'm just curious everyone else's opinion's on this lappy. I was looking for a C2D laptop with a 15' screen for medium to light use. Does anyone have any experience with asus laptops ? If so I would love to hear some feedback.

Newegg.com - ASUS F3 Series F3F-AP112C NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5500(1.66GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 1GB DDR2 667 120GB 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel GMA950 - Retail

Thanks In Advance

-Mike

** Edit **

I will be adding another gig of ram and win xp when I get it ....

Mike i think the laptop will be good enough for you on what you want it to do as long as your not gaming with it, some of the lower end games might be ok but high end games will not work on it, i am also glad to see that you will be adding another 1gb strip of ram that will help out alot if you decide to keep Vista on it.

If you're looking for a lappy, look into HP. I'm also a student and my old lappy died in the summer. I'm ordering one from them this week. Look into the dv6500t series notebooks. Not too bad, I'm getting mine for a little over a 1,000. But its bringing 2 gb ram, an 8400M gs vidcard, 160 gb hdd, and a core 2 duo- 1.8 ghz w/ 800mhz FSB. Not too bad for the money I think.

Check em out:

Hope that helped any. Good luck on the search.

A couple of friends of mine were recently looking for laptops, so naturally I got them a quote from dell at my price...Anyway turns out they shopped around a bit and they went to officemax or something similar and spec'd out higher end HP laptops, and ended up paying less for them than they would the dells.

I would go to a store like that and try and get a quote for an HP if it were me.
