NO! on the CPU buy a Core2 Duo, E6600, E6700 july 22 price dropns come and Q6600 are only 266$

No need for the videocard PSU, the 1010W will be fine.

And there are probably way better ways to W/c the video cards

Well, I would recommend Buffalo Firestix, but they're other that are cheaper.

I strongly suggest you ditch the Thermaltake watercooling, it's useless.

+1

Core 2 Duo would be a way better choice

Also on ram I would go with this 2GB solution
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Its also the best rated on newegg and only 90 bucks its a steal

and if you want for 4 GB than this
Newegg.com - OCZ Vista Upgrade 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Chennel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Im not 100% if this is the best for you but this is what I would get if I was building a new comp

I thought the only memory it could take was DDR800?

Because it would do an otherwise kickass system (if you go with a Conroe vs. a Pentium D) a severe injustice by installing it. There are plenty of other viable solutions that will work better.

Edit: This is a bit more expensive, but the reviews seem to state it is worth it.
Newegg.com - Thermalright HR-03 Plus VGA Cooler - Retail
I agree on losing the extra vid card PSU and as far as RAM is concerned there are several I would have no regrets in recommending, although I can personally attest to the quality of the Buffalo Firestix... at least their PC2 8000 offering.

The Q6600 Quad Core is the way to go...especially if you OC it...3+GHZ easy!

Buying a dual core today would have been like getting a cutting edge rig with single core 2 years ago, games like Supreme Commander won't even play on a single core!

You might end up upgrading to it eventually for some of the new games on the horizon, so bite the bullet now...and at 266$ it's even cheaper than that old P-4 based CPU you were looking at!

The Stryker is probably the best OC SLI board on the market if you were running LN-2, but a bit pricey at over 300$ and probably overkill for your needs, I would look more at the P5NE SLI deluxe for 200$, it will OC about the same on air cooling, but easier on the wallet

Newegg.com - ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

If you are planning on Overclcoking get something rated at DDR 1066, if not, DDR 800 will be just fine.

I just picked up some OCZ PC 9200 Reaper Editon myself (DDR 1150) and they had it running at over DDR 1200 speeds

Legit Reviews - OCZ PC2 9200 2GB Reaper HPC Edition Memory Review - The Reaper Arrives

This 1KW Silverstone will put that OCZ to shame for the same money (After rebate) it has a single 12v rail with 80 amps, multi rail PSU's are not the way to go for SLI...I just got the 850 watt version (70 Amp) myself.

You won't need a dedicated video card PSU with it either.

The Buffalo Firestix PC2 8000 reached over 1200 (1247 if I remember correctly) on my AM2 rig, would have to look up what AntiM got up to on his C2D rig as I don't remember off the top of my head.

You can't compare AMD to Intel OC's for RAM, the AM-2 walks away due to the memory controller being built on the CPU...if you look at some of the manufacturers ratings, they often spec tighter timings and max speeds on the AM-2 platform

True, but in the review here, AntiM was able to achieve DDR1100 without even going looser than stock timings. I am sure it would creep on 1200 as well with looser timings.
Of course, the performance at tighter timings is what matters anyways.

hell, my DDR-800 Firestix hit DDR-1200 @ 5-6-6-18 @ only 2.2v and they were orthos blend and memtest stable

Without getting into to many details...I saw how this stuff performs at another forum with some heavy voltz and an extra cooling fan, it was at over 1300MHZ with some pretty impressive timings for that speed...Tony from OCZ piped in and mentioned they have a new revision Micron D-9 and some special SPD mojo going on inside

But yes..the Firesticks are a great buy for the money!

I've been watrcooling for years and i know what i'm talking about when i tell you to ditch the Thermatake cooling. Thermaltake's watercooling is a pathetic excuse for cooling. Rather get some PROPER water cooling like some Swiftech or D-Tek.
