The mobo you picked will not work with the cpu you picked. You need
to get an Intel Core2Duo cpu instead of the AMD X2 6000. You'll be happier :-)

I would steer clear of an Ultra PSU if I were you. They really aren't very good, and you don't want one going pop on you and taking out $1000 of new components. Anything made by Seasonic, Power PC & Cooling, Enermax, Corsair or, if you're really on a budget, Hiper, will suit you much better.

I wouldn't bother with that CPU cooler either. They're not very good performers compared with other models on the market such as the ThermalTake Big Typhoon or Scythe's products. Sure, they cool other bits as well as the CPU, but with a really hot running quad core processor, I'd place more emphasis on effectively cooling that rather than the other components too.

I've had an Ultra PSU fry my brand new nf3 motherboard, RIGHT after I got my system running an A64 CPU for the first time. I now hate Ultra with a passion.

Also if you can wait till July 22 the price of core 2s is going to drop. The quad cores will also be cheaper (ie 250 for the lowest quad core)

Check it out... 25 LGA775 coolers tested and benched.

HEXUS.net - Review :: LGA 775 CPU Cooler Mega Test : Page - 1/120

Anyways, this is what they found...

5th place
Titan Vanessa Type-L

4th place
Zalman 9700

3rd place
Tuniq Tower 120

2nd place
Scythe Miné

1st place
Thermaltake Big Typ VX

I purchased a Scythe Mine as the result of the review, and have been pretty pleased with it. It's got wiggle room, and only uses pushpins so no need for a screwdriver.

Oh yeah, cheers for the info IceMage

No ThermalRight Ultra-120 in the top5, they must have done something wrong...

PS my E6700 idles at about 38oC @ 3.5GHz on my P5K. Thats just a short term board, as I'm going to get a DFI Bearlake board. It's pretty sweet though does 4.1GHz watercooled for SuperPi, it is slower than D975XBX2 though.

No prob, I was looking around today thinking about my next build and I saw that...Was going to post a news thread about it but did not get around to it. I hope the reviews start popping up soon I would like to see how they perform and over clock compared to the ones out now. I am having a tough time picking a mobo tho, there are so many choices, hard to research them all..

Yeah, its 120mm, with push-pins. Wiggle room aint that great, that's why I got a Scythe Mine for my PC.

Quad cores do generate a lot of heat, but with a decent watercooling setup you should be able gain a fair few megahertz. I've seen Q6600s at just past 3ghz with a mid-range WC setup.
