| Apex Techie Wannabe | Alright well I've recently come to acquire a bit of cash with a new job and other things and I was considering buying a new comp. My old one is capable but I guess I'm just obsessed with having top of the line-ish stuff. Not bleeding-edge, mind you, but high-quality stuff. So, the specs to my old rig arent very important. What is important is I think can manage to pawn it off for around $1500. This puts my new budget at about $2200-$2300 ish. So anyways, I've done some homework and came to find these components with the help of Newegg. I know you guys may not like judgin other people's prospective comps or wasting time with "another new build" but if ya dont like it, don't comment . (Watch I'll probly end up with no new comments haha). I may have too much or too little of something; feel free to critique. Anyways, here it goes. Case - Free case im gettin from a connection I have. Not sure what type it will be. Planning on customizing it. | Get Crucial Ballistix 1066MHz instead. UPDATE Link for the memory. Comes with a Crazy MIR aswell. Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Last edited by Zaltan; 12-June-07 at 05:34 PM.. | ||

| If I were you I'd rather just get an Newegg.com - MSI P6N Diamond LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail since it has built in xi-fi and basically is the same as the Asus in specs. I also like MSI more as a company. On memory I'd reccomend Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail cause of the great price + timings. Btw I saw on the edit it said you changed memory but it still links to a DDR 400 memory. | ||

| You should consider OCZ ram, its a little less expensive than corsair. I think you should take a E6600 2.4GHZ CPu and buy a 8800GTX or GTS instead of a 2.66GHZ. Your CPU fan can be better than that because if you're gonna buy a "that price system" you'll need a really good cooling. Finaly, I really think that your power supply is a bit expensive, don't take SLI enable if you don't want to use that option, its less expensive to take a non SLI enable power supply. hope that helps | ||
