My question what do you all look for in a video card for gaming such as speed and memory and etc.
Please no Over clocked Video cards just a plain stock card and why you would pick that card for gaming, i have been using a ATI 256mb X800XL AGP for quite sometime now and it has been a great card for playing games, so i was thinking there is probably a better performing card then this.
So i have been thinking of getting something a little more up to date since this card is pretty much no longer available on the market as far as i know, granted this card still plays great and performs well i just think it is time to upgrade it for better performance, the only thing i am not sure of is what to buy since there is so many types of video cards out on the market today.

The only thing i do no for sure is it would have to be a AGP since i do not have PCI Express on my Gigabyte motherboard, price i like to keep maybe around $250 to $300 if possible.

One more question if someone can tell me please with the new release of DirectX10 and newer video cards that support DirectX10 will it work on XP Pro or our you still going have to have the new OS Vista to run DirectX10.
