Default Fast Flash?

So my OCZ Rally2 was a fast drive last October when i bought it. (i like the no guarantee)"up to" 28mb(read)/18MB(write). Well with the ready boost craze in flash drives, they got faster. Looking around for the 2GB range i see the flash voyager being one of the fastest if not the fastest. (34 read/21 write)

Anyone have a fast USB drive? my OCZ actually came new with 28/25 speeds, but slowly its falling into the stated speeds. I'm looking into another 2GB (mother wants one, so I'll give her mine and find a new one), so whats a good brand for speed?

I read a review of the corsair voyager GT model and it stomps the rest of them out now. I am using a PNY attache 2GB model and it seems to do okay.

Yep - Flash Voyager GT kicks ass!
Still, you pay a premium for them at the moment

Not that bad, for all the 2GB models i looked at, $27 still beats the 30 bucks i bought my OCZ rally2 for. Since my mother is in need of a drive, I'm going to pawn the OCZ to her, and i ordered a GT today...ahh the sweetness of upgrades......

The good things about buying quality products is that you don't have to feel so bad about giving hand-me-downs

I dunno, its like 6 months old, hand me down isn't even the word, (but the FAT filesystem is nice, i can format it with the incinerator, and nothing i have can find files on it...)

Very true though, when i handed my PC133 512 stick to my pap, i didn't feel bad at all, his K6 ran much quicker (it had PC66)

I'm kind of disapointed with the Voyager GT, real-world use doens't show it, but every benchmark i've tried shows 26MB/s peaking the drives capabilitys with the 33MB/s average review (althoughth they are all 4GB and 8GB models, wouldn't the 2GB have a better speed?

Here's the HD tach reading

Here's my 6 month old OCZ Rally2 HD tach benchmark

Fast Flash?-hdtach_ocz.jpg

not the biggest performance gain for a drive that says its worth 34mb/s
