| Check out this post i made on top end AGP cards http://forums.pcapex.com/hardware_ad...de_advice.html The 1950 Pro really shows off, but some of the OCed 1650's and others show up ontop. I suggest getting GDDR3 memory though, it should keep you in the game with the AGP market at least. (don't you have a 8800 GTS?) | ||

| I asked myself the same question, and I went with what I thought was the best: BFG 7800 GS. I believe it's actually a PCI-X card converted to AGP. Hell, you can't beat 256 MB GDDR3 and a lifetime warranty from BFG for $200 though. I just may get another one when it's got free shipping or rebates from Newegg. Only one thing I think buyers should beware though... when you fire up a game it'll spin the vga cooler to a loud shreek for almost as long as you play the game. But if you can tune that out, you should be fine. When you stop playing and let it cool down, it's as silent as a baby. Hope that helps. I'm willing to use my cheap webcam to show you how it works. | ||

| just about all the AGP cards are hitting the heat levels that fans can't help, get a zally heatpipe cooler, and you'll be good. but really, the 1650 is OCed thats why it runs so nice, also check the listing at toms hardware. after looking that over though, it only shows the 1950 on there and the 1650 has a 5MHz core lead and about 100MHz memory lead. Like i said, they're starting to just get plain hot, after you push that much stuff through the AGP bus you can't really get any better. There was a 7600 GT AGP card with GDDR3 memory which had nice clocks but i can't find it anymore. EDIT: found it, at the egg too Newegg.com - XFX PVT73AUDE3 GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail 580MHz core, 1500MHz memory, its hard to beat but the pipes are lower (12) which isnt bad, stick with one of those 16's or the 24, it will last longer... EDIT again: like i was saying in job's thread, the 24 pipes and highest (almost ) clocks makes the 16050XT the card to buy, with the IceQ cooler to boot, i don't think its beatable, especially for that price. Only issue i could see is a nVidia Fanboy approach, i dunno what side of that spectrum your on TGS Last edited by s1ugh34d; 21-May-07 at 11:10 PM.. | ||

| Yup i agree. bought an X1650 O.C agp and sold it off after a couple days. I benched it and played a few games ,and I was truelly dissapointed even when it was OC'd to 700Mhz Gpu. I replaced it with a BFG 7800GS OC agp,and at stock settings it completely thumps that Ati Into submission / no contest. | ||

Zaltan's right; the X1950XT smokes the X1950 Pro and walks all over the 7800GS. Until AGP DX10 parts come out, this is the best card. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

That thing has a TEC in it, but damn, i didnt know it exsisted, here i though the 1650 had the most power strangley. Major differnce in that card is the HDCP, thats awesome for the AGP card, if it wasn't the price of a PCIe card i'd buy it... found the nVidia variant Newegg.com - XFX PVT71AYDF3 GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail still not as good as that 1950XT...
