| I found this article through pspupdates.com but found it very interesting. In the article they say that the homebrew scene was dead before the 2.5/6 downgrader but that was not the case. This is a pretty good read if you are not completely into the psp homebrew scene but for those of you who are (phlak wink wink) you will probably be pulling your hair out screaming "Lies! Lies and slander!" Check it out.

| I think it happens more often than one would think. The Desert Combat team was recruited by Dice and the guys who started Counter-Strike were picked up by Valve (the TFC team was also hired... but where on earth is TF2 anyway??). The Red Orchestra team was also hired by Valve. Same with the Day of Defeat group... Once you think about it, the very good popular mods are generally successful in both their own right and that game studios become interested in the mods' creator(s). | ||

Great article PB. And yes the homebrew scene has been blowing up like crazy. Last night I had a huge bonfire at my place and I used my PSP for streaming internet radio using the homebrew PSP RADIO. It was awesome. I used it all night just walking around with it in my back pocket.

| I think that homebrew has been ok to talk about. And there is nothing illegal about the downgraders at all. And even Foe had a thread on overclocking your DS (which was awesome of her). But the only thing I have ever had shot down was my soft-mod for the xbox which is posted on pcapex, weird huh? I guess as long as there are no links to illegal sites or sharing games or anything of the sort I think has been ok to talk about. | ||

Interesting. Any discussions on the GA forums are governed by one thing, The GA Rules. If you read those, and it does not break them in any way shape or form, then you should be okay. If you break the rules, then that is a problem. ![]()

| Well the talk about DGer's, ISO's, and firmware are legal because it is just that, talk. I think that you cross the line when you start explaining to someone how to go about breaking the law in which case ISO loaders are illegal as are backups to which you do not own the original copy, as in games, movies, ect ect. Downgraders and not really illegal considering they were made by a homebrew coder, the firmware files were simply downloaded from sony's website, and used to go back to an earlier firmware on the psp. Please correct me if any of this is wrong. | ||
