| Here comes the first batch of images so get to work. http://www.deviantart.com/view/2268692/ http://www.deviantart.com/view/2730067/ http://www.deviantart.com/view/2599188/ As you can tell all of these images come from the same category. I'm starting you guys off easy. Your Objectives: 1. Combine all three images into one complete peice. 2. Create some sort of theme or slogan to go with your peice. 3. Be creative. 4. Explain what you did. These images can be combined in any manner (resize, chop, etc.) Use any part of the image you like as long as you use all three. Have fun and ask questions if you need to. | Some of you guys are getting the idea. In this image I used all three images. I'll explain later how I did it. *I cannot win this game. I am just giving examples.* ps - i changed one of the images to one i liked better. Ok This is how i did what is below. I won't be able to explain everything but for the most part this is how it was done. 1. I extracted the car from its background. This can be done by holding CTRL+ALT+X. This pulls up the extraction window and you use the little highlighter to trace the image you want to extract and then fill the inside of the highlighted area with the Paintbucket and choose preview. 2. Now that I had the car extracted I made a new layer behind it and filled it with white. 3. I took the speedometer layer and used the Unshapren Mask. This can be found Filters>>Shapren>>Unsharpen Mask. This will shapren the blurry look but not too much. (adjusted until I was pleased). 4. To make the speedometer I had to invert the colors. To do this go to Image>>Adjust>>Invert. 5. To make it so the Speedometer is slightly transparent on the bottom left corner so it can be placed over the car and the car still be seen I had to add what is called a Layer Mask. This is just a big fancy word that means what can be see and what won't. To add the mask go to Layer>>Add Layer Mask>>Reveal All. Now the layer mask is added to the Speedometer Layer I used the Paintbucket on the gradient setting not foreground. Simply click on the bottom left side of the picture and drag to the top right and let go. When you try this you will know what i am talking about. Repeat untill desired effect is reached. 6. Now take the final layer which will be the one with the big turbo on it. To resize it press CTRL+T. Then grab the corner while holding shift and drag it until it is the size you want it. 7. Next I changed the layers blending option to 'color'. To do this look at the layers box and you will see 3 boxes at the top. One will say Normal and the other two 100%. Change the box that says normal to say color. 8. Lastly I blurred the car slightly and added text. I don't know why I blurred the car, just felt like it. To do this Filter>>Blur>>Gaussian Blur (at 1). I hope this helped clear up how I did everything. Last edited by cl0uder; 01-September-03 at 10:15 PM.. | ||
