Whatcha wanna do is use the lasso tool, either the normal lasso or the polygonal lasso tool. Use this tool to draw a selection around the rim, then just copy and paste it onto the image of the car.

You can then use Free Transform (ctrl+T) to scew and rotate the rims to get the desired shape.

Well for the record a much better (my opinion) way to get those rims cut out is to bump the zoom up to ~200-300% and use the Pen tool to make a path around the edge of the rim. Double click on the layer and name it Unit (name doesn't matter, but by makeing it a real layer you allow the use of transperancy when you are done. Then right click, choose "make selection." now you have the rim selected, hit q to make a quick mask, then in filters go to the other tab, and choose minimize (or maybe maximize, I forget without doing it) minimize it 1 pxl, exit the quick mask, invert the selection and hit delete. Deselect. Now if you want to be all professional about it make a new layer named White, go to the paint bucket and swap the defaults (from black to white) and fill the layer with white. Move the layer to the bottom, and voila you've just made a block out.

(And people tell me I don't learn anything working in a photography studio ;p)
