hi guys.
i have started to build my own custom case from the ground up and the wife has named it "Dark Angel" because it is going to be completely black apart from the radiator grills on the side covers.it is bigger than 2 server towers so there will be plenty of room for a simple but effective design connected with the name "Dark Angel" on the front cover as well as in the chassis that will be seen when the side cover is opened.i am also thinking of doing the design in mother-of-pearl.
can someone help out with a few ideas for this design?

Abalone would look equally good, and may be cheaper

If the design's not too big, you could buy a pearloid guitar pickguard and cut it up. It looks like mother-of-pearl. Also, if you write out "DarkAngeL" somewhere, you could make the "A" in the middle fan out like a pair of wings... just a suggestion.

how complex are you planning on making this...do you want a relativly rectangular design?

Yes it is a very nice picture, i am sure someone could photo chop it to look like that, i do not have the skills or the means to do it myself.

was thinking of something a bit more simplistic.(i dont even know if that is the right word).i still have to cut the design out before i place it on the front panel but all are really good ideas.
because of the name - something a little bit evil perhaps?

heheh - cant have a window on side panel cause the radiator(1 on each side) is going to take up 4/5 of the panel (they are being custom made and are huge )

Coupla suggestions:

Dark Angel was a TV show in the US, starring Jesse Alba, so you might check out some of the fan sites for artwark or a logo.

A yahoo "Image Seach" turned up LOTS of images, I browsed about 15 pages of them...maybe you will find something there that hits the spot!

Now, this is a stretch..but people will think of a female form when it comes to Angels, but the original "Dark Angel" was Lucifer

I am sure you can find all kinds of truely wicked imagery based on HIM.

i agree with you "Solid".the dark angel doesnt have to be a female - males can also be dark!

I could see doing a "fallen" angel instead of a dark angel.

Honestly, the first thought I had was one of the Shinigami from Death Note.
