I have to make a magazine cover for this assignment at school and im doing a car magazine. On my cover at the moment is a ferrari and a chick. No probs there but i feel the chick still looks fake even after i sharpened the image and burned it to give her skin colour a sort of more realistic look but it still looks like she's not there. Any ideas on how to make it look more real and any ideas on a name for my mag?

Put the chick behind the car and hide those legs.

My reason for this is that the car appears to be more in focus than the chick.

You need to get rid of the white edge around her where she was chopped into the image. Then soften her up where she is too "hard looking". Also she is not casting a shadow of any kind, and should be because the car is. Place her more off to the left side, and then I would place the magazine title more to the right to offset her. Make the title something car related so she is not the focal point. Lastly get rid of some of the dead white area at the top of the image. It is too big.

can i get some help with the shadow/shading when i tried i didnt have much luck and yeah i know i still need to tidy up the chick

Just take into consideration the angle the lighting is coming from. Using the shadow of the car as a guide. Then if you do not have the ability or program to make a shadow, try to find a similar image with a shadow to mimic.

Looking for a new picture could be a good idea. I think you need something with a girl facing toward the camera completely. Then, put her on the other side of the car. If you could find a girl who's already leaning on a car, that could be good.

As for this image, there's a couple problems I see. Her legs look completely messed up. There's some sort of white chunk around her left hip, around the right side of her rib-area, and the inner-side of her right arm, it appears. Another problem is proportion. I think the proportions are close to being accurate, but I think you need to move the girl closer to the car, and scale her down a bit. Another thing is that she looks really distorted and blurry in her face and such, and all the details of the car are clean and crisp. In a real photo that had any kind of distortion, the secondary image (here: the car) would be a little blurry and the camera would focus on the girl in the foreground.

Hope this advice helped. I'd seek out a new girl, looking toward the camera.

so subdismal you think that i should get someone facing straight? ill start looking for another chick soon i was originally going to use another one but the pic i found had chopped her legs of so ill see if i can find the full pic

Well, it looks good accept it is in the wrong direction. It should be in the same direction as the cars shadow. Behind her and too the left. Unless you change the shadow of the car to match hers.

yeah thats the thing i wasnt sure about which way to make the shadow. So your saying the shadow should be coming towards me?

The shadow for the car is right in front, and slightly left. Which is exactly how her shadow should fall.

i tried it again at school and i think i got it so im gonna move on. The title im going with at the moment is Auto Torque. Any suggestions?

Is the picture of the chick considered school appropriate for you? Around here students would get punished quickly for displaying it on school grounds.

i dont know havent checked that out yet ill prolly have to change it but thats what im going with at the moment. The only reason why im using that is i leeched it off another car pic. As for sketches and things i have one but i lent my scanner to my uncle so i dont have it at the moment.

Pretty much above the car will be the name of the mag, the article name bout the ferrari i think will be slanted across, at the bottom will be some of the other article headings kinda dot pointed

sorry for the double post but i found out today that i actually do have to change the chick on my magazine cover so its back to the drawing board
