| The production is great, it really gives it a good 80's hardcore feel, but done well enough to hear what everything is doing. I wish the drums pushed the rhythm along a little better instead of doing a fill whenever the guitars and vocals slow up. It gives the song a sort of stop and go feel that really holds back the energy this song could have. At least I think it's the drums that does this. All in all, I think you have a good song in the works, but it needs to keep moving instead of tripping up. | ||

| I might agree with SP (not sure) but I can't really say because I can't hear the drums all that well. I must say it is rather refreshing to be able to hear the lyrics in a punk song though. ![]() Contrary to what many believe, micing the drums is a good idea too..... you can always adjust the levels as necessary. Definately some potential there once the volume discrepencies between the vocals and instruments are worked out. | ||

| I absolutely hate Fender Strats. They're definitely good for the punk/grunge and blues sounds, but personally I don't think you can get a lot of crunch out of them. I was too cheap to actually buy an American Stratocaster, so I got a Squier Strat instead. Hey, at $150 I wasn't complaining. I recently acquired a knock-off of a Gibson SG Standard, made by DeArmond. Had not heard of this company, but I know it was bought for about $400 new. I got it for a whopping $15. It was bought new, the guy gave up on playing, so he and his friend decided to strip the paint and just play with 'tricking it out'. They had it one of those colors that looks different every way you look at it, but now it's just a slightly shiney silver/primer. I don't care, for $15 and dual Humbuckers and an ungodly crunch, I love it. ...I'm done rambling. | ||

I definitely love the classic look of a Stratocaster. Elegant and timeless, sleek and clean. Especially if you get the pearl pickguard, which is uber sweet. I really like the look of them, they play nice, but they just have no balls. Unless, as you said, they have custom pickups. I investigated having Humbuckers put in my Squier, but it wasn't worth the bucks. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
