| Ok... I'm guessing a Mini DV camera is better because it's easier to transfer over to your computer, and I'm sure the video quality is better when you do, but why is it better than to use a video capture card with a normal camcorder?? Is it a lot better quality? | ||

| Mini DV is digital. DV is still only 1x transfer speeds, but there isnt any quality loss. You see exactly what your camera's CCD sees, and the camera is the only limiting factor on the quality. Using VHS + a capture card doesnt look horrible, but by the time it gets to your hard drive its been resampled at least 4 times, which is bad. The more you resample, the more you loose origional quality. Besides all that, DV cameras are a hell of a lot smaller and generally a lot easier to use. 1 click type stuff. | ||
