Well... I'm getting anxious knowing that decisions from my top schools are probably now in my same state. Instead of just pacing and constantly visiting the schools' websites, I decided to do what I normally do to waste time (such as procrastinating papers).

The first is something we're all familiar with, with a bit of a different twist. I've had this keyboard for 5 years now, pardon the wear on the space key.

The second is when I was looking for subjects to make a still life. It's not perfect, but still kinda makes me laugh.

I wish I had better skills and a better camera...

Here are some of the latest. The last two I threw into Photoshop and desaturated all but what I wanted colored, the rest are just resized

Recent photo shoot I did of a friend of mine.

Sunrise on the beaches

^^Scroll down to the row of the pictures with the turbo in it. It starts with the farthest one on the right.

I really like the turtle. The low level and the offset of it. Centred focal points are damn boring... for the most part anyways.

err- sorry. This is why I don't take bio. Well, that and things (surgical knives and needles) sticking out of flesh make me squirm. No problems with free flowing blood, though. What use I am I going to get out of disecting a frog!?

Here are some pics of my last trip to Brazil. I'm trying to save up enough cash to go again in April, so hopefully I'll have better ones in a few months.

I did some research on the crab and it is actually a Calico Crab, mostly a deep-sea crab. He probably got blown ashore from the storm that happened the day before.

The best thing about that shot is I didn't look to take it. I put the camera down and lined up the crab with the lens from a top view and *click*.

Few pics from a Raleigh International volunteering expedition to Costa Rica

All taken from a 250km trek to the summit of Mount Kamuk (3550m)

First 3 are about half way through... a gorgeous sunset

Next two are from the summit. We got there for sunrise and it was simply the most beautiful thing i have ever seen! The most amazing moment of my life second to none...

And finally just a pic of my tent partner all the way up... CHECK THE HAIR!!!!!!

nice pics in here. my dad was a professional photographer (its still hard thinking of him in the past tense) I have a favorite that he took, of the battle field of custers last stand. and my brother is a photographer, i never followed in the foot steps, i have a hard time pointing the digital camera and making the heads all fit in the frame. LOL

pwrslyd:

If you do end up getting the money together for another trip to Brasil, you absolutely MUST make sure you check out the Northeast part of Brasil. Lots of old colonial churches there, nice beaches, and lower prices than in Rio (I saw the sugarloaf / corcovado pic).

Another area is the state of Minas Gerais, there is a town there where a local sculptor who was crippled turned out remarkable larger-than-life statues of the prophets... The churches down there are from the colonial time as well, very beautiful and photogenic.

Iguassu falls, down by the border with Argentina, that's one that can rival Niagara just about any day... Enough spray in the air to create photographable multiple rainbow circles, as I recall...

(Sorry, I grew up down there, so I played the Tour Guide for a second)

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely look into that. I think it am going to be able to procure the money, so I may be down there in October....
