| Here are 3 of maybe 40 I shot tonight at sunset, I was painting the Superior and saw this and just had to go get the digicam... first one is a mammatus cloud formation, you get these in big thundestorms underneath the anvil cloud, it's a sign of turbulence in the upper atmosphere. the other two are sunsets, one is a 1280 x 960 wallpaper. | ||

| This has to be some of my best work to date. It all started when I went outside to sand the Bondo on the Choppers Mod when I saw this shelf cloud approaching from the West: Camera time. So I hopped in the Altima and drove to the local golf course where the storm perpetuated itself into this: Here I have outlined the rotating airmass under the shelf cloud that gives the shelf-cloud its appearance, this is basically a horizontal tornado. If you were to see this in person you would see it rotate. I thought "Man at this rate by the time I get to the top of the Causeway it'll be well organized." Sure enough I was correct and atop the Causeway shot these: And ended the day with these here: I have MANY more like these I shot in 1280 x 960 if anyone is interested in wallpaper-sized shots PM me or IM me. | ||

| Nice pictures, j-dogg. I'm really digging the first picture. Nice contrast of lighting and the picture doesn't look too dark. I'm not into bikes, but I can respect your bike from the stories I've read here on PR, and moreso now for these awesome pictures showing off your love for the bike. | ||

| Took me almost forever to find this freakin' thread. Found this nice piece of software that puts your pictures together in a panoramic view. Keep in mind this is a demo version and the website says that if your demo runs out to just download it again. AutoStitch Enjoy, Rob | ||

| I like to imagine that I have some sort of skill when taking pictures, but I don't do it often enough for being a film student...supposedly that all changes this semester. Well the other night a short thunderstorm woke me up at about 4am in the morning. Being the film student I am and not being that tired the first thought that came to mind was "gee that'd be nice to get a picture of". After setting my camera to about a 10-25 second exposure and pointing it towards the horizon as best i could in near pitch black i fired off about 50 shots...one of which caught lightning in action. So here it is in all its glory taken with my trusty Sony DSCW7. | ||

| Went outside to help water my mom's plants, and investigate a mysterious duck. He arrived in my yard after a rain storm a while ago, and disappeared. He reappeared yesterday... We are at war... Anyway, I took a few pics before I realized I needed to set my camera quality at high again. Just a 3.1MP HP PhotoSmart 435 I got for $80. | ||

| Figured I should post some of my stuff. Me and jcarkeys went out on a small "photo excursion" recently, and these were my favorites. I can give high res ones to anyone that would like some larger ones. You'll probably be seeing some of my stuff more often. Just got me a Canon Digital Rebel XT, and tomorrow is vacation ![]() | ||

Good choice for a camera. I have the older model, the 300D. If you have any questions about it or lenses don't be afraid to ask.

| Yeah, looking at some of your stuff, I'll be asking alot of questions. What lenses do you have/use? I noticed a 400mm mentioned earlier. I think getting the hang of features and functions and when to use them through practice will probably be the biggest help for me at the moment. I plan on taking lots of pictures with my new toy. EDIT: Figured I would add another one I took earlier today at the Farmers Market. Last edited by neotheducky; 31-July-05 at 02:07 AM.. | ||

Nice picture and you used great Depth of Field (DOF) for that shot. I have the following lenses: Kit Lens 18-55mm 50mm 1.8 MKII ---Must buy lens and it only cost about 70 bucks. 70-200 F4L 400 F5.6L

| Decided to borrow my sister's camera today and take some pictures around the home. Digital Rebel 300D Sigma 28-80mm f3.5-5.6? Sigma 70-300mm f5.6-6.3? (I'm making up the f-stop numbers, though they sound rightish) I used the 80mm macro mode for most and the 200-300mm macro mode on the others, though I don't think many of these were with the larger lens. By the way, most of these pics are available at higher res at my DeviantArt site. also, there're other ones I didn't submit here. Last edited by jcarkeys; 02-August-05 at 12:05 PM.. | ||
