Hey does anyone know how to set a Canon A75 to macro mode? I was taking some pictures of sharpies, I couldnet get the same effect JessAlba got with those glass things. (They are for a site im working on) Thanks

I have an A85 so im sure we have the same buttons.

if you look where the SET button is below that is the arrow down button. It says MF.
When your ready to take a picture hit that and it will show on the screen when it is on. (image will show)
Thats what gets you good closeups.

I got some great ones from a b-day party this weekend, but will not be able to download them from the camera until my HD gets replaced..i borrowed my g-ma's kodak 7590, which allows you to take some great photo's in color, b&w, or sephia..

My camera is not the best for taking close-ups and not the best for taking scenery either. (no macros, no optical zoom). But every once in a while, a pic turns out nice.

To answer your question it'd be none of the above hehe

I just used full 12X optical zoom on my camera, with aperture of F8 and shutter of 1/200. It's not SLR nor DSLR...just one of those prosumer cameras.

I do want to eventually get a Canon 10D though or maybe a RebelXT.

I didn't know 12x optical zoom could reach that far. I'm glad your lookning a Canon and not Nikons Right now I'm using a 300D but I've been looking at the 20D for a while now.

Well...I'm just picky when it comes to brands lol. Plus canon in my opinion has the most lenses so I'll have more of a range to choose from when getting one!

Yohan - those buildings are incredible....and the one in the plane makes me wish I had this camera on my trip back from washington state It's hard to describe, but I was flying home and it was as the sun was going down about when the sky turns pinkish orange.....this was in the seattle area and I believe Mt Vernier is the tallest mountain...my god....we got up in the sky and all you saw was the snow covered mountain top as the ENTIRE sky below it was nothing but a field of clouds....the most incredible thing I've ever seen, you could see nothing but clear sky behind the mountian top and nothing but endless clouds, no earth could be seen besides of course the mountain top....absolutely beautiful.

Jess - Moon does look quite lovely...haven't seen a good full moon in quite some time.

I also have an A85 like the guy above me When we first got it I went crazy...here are my pics mind you I manipulated them in photoshop a tad because that's pretty much what I do....I have an account at deviantart in which I generally look for peoples photos and edit them so I did this here as well.

Yes I went crazy with black and white as well Although I'll put up some edited, some plain BW, and some regular colored.....even more roses have popped up in our backyard, theres red, pink, white, yellow, and a really dark almost maroon color growing all next to each other I'll have to get pics of that.
