| I've seen this program before, like MojoWorld transporter. I used it a while ago, but it let you build planets and then do all of these cool pictures of various landscapes and stuff. Not sure if it would be able to do that, but it's sorta the same idea. I like the second one better as well | ||

| Not pictures, though thanks for the compliment. I got a new toy called Terragen, which if I tell it the right things to do, can do some awesome effects. Downside is the time it takes to render, I gotta get away from my Compaq replacement rig and get into a real rendering setup (RIP FlameProof, I shall rebuild you someday...) I haven't even used the best effects, such as the "fingers of God" sunset lighting effect trick, etc. I'll keep posting, trick your friends and family with them... | ||

| Woot, just looked that up, it's basically the same thing I said, except cooler, and most importantly, free. Good find Kayin, I'm gonna have fun playin with this Here's the link for anyone interested. Kayin, if that's not the same thing, please tell me now as stupid dialup is taking several minutes though it's only 3 mb or so Last edited by jcarkeys; 12-March-04 at 03:05 PM.. | ||

| Yo kayin...that's pretty rad looking man! Oh and I guess you made it with TERRAGEN!! now where are my rep points?? critique: The water is what gives it away. In the first shot it's more apparent but not so much in the second. The lighting is just about flawless, but the texture of the water is too grainy. I would drop the detailed texture aspect down a notch. Water gets rough but not that rough, imagine what would have to be happening below the surface to create a disturbance like that, it would have to be an earthquake or something. The wave/curve factor looks good, just that texture.... Anyway the fjords are really gorgeous, I dig that stuff alot. Oh and one more thing, the "fog" in the first pic, it fades the cliffs pretty well, but the water in front of the rocks do not look like it matches the amount of mist in the pic. Fog is volumetric and expansive...it woldnt cover the rocks and miss the water. There should be a falloff value or even the choice for square/linear/rectangular if you have those options screw with them and do test render, this will give you a better idea of how they function. Dunno if you can fork around with that or not. Otherwise they look freaking great!! How much more complex/suttle effects can you do with that software? It might be usefull to a DECOG?? -DC | ||

| Try increasing the exposure on the night scene for a more realistic effect. Have you figured out how to use surface maps yet? It would make your mountains look better. I know this proggy like the back of my hand.If you need any tips just ask. Looks good though man. Good work. | ||
