| Ok, I'll try to run it thru in an easy way Mot. One option (and theres many) is your eraser tools. The "Magic Eraser Tool" works well in most cases, when dealing with a simple white or 1 colored background. Clicking on your background with it will usually erase it nice enough. Just play with it and you'll see the effect. The remaining pic can then be copied and pasted into another pic, or saved as a .gif or .psd file with transparency. | ||

| Another option that I use mainly is the "Magic Wand Tool". I also attached small before pic to explain the steps. Select the tool, then click in the white background. This will select the white area, any remaining white areas can added by holding shift while clicking on them one at a time with the Magic Wand. Your results so far should look like pic 3. | ||

| Once your happy with the areas selected, right click within the image and drop down to "Select Inverse" as shown in the first pic below. That should swap your selected area as being the girl, as shown in the 2nd pic below. At this point you want to either hit "Ctrl+c" to copy, or go up top to "Edit, then drop down to Copy". After choosing to "Copy" in either manner, go up top to "File" then drop to "New". A box will pop up with the correct dimensions already set for your "Copied" image. Just make sure that below, that the "Transparent" box is checked as the Background color. Click ok, and a new box will open within PS with a transparent background. Hit either "Ctrl+v" or go up top to "Edit" and drop down to "Paste". The image you selected earlier should appear on your new transparent background, as shown in the 3rd pic below. From there, you can once again use it with another pic or background, or save it as a transparent .gif or .psd file for future use. Hope this helps. As I said before, there is alot of ways to accomplish the same thing in PS. I'm not stating that my way is the best or easiest, Its just the way I've become accustomed to doing things. I could go on for hours really...lolLast edited by jinx©; 22-February-04 at 01:39 AM.. | ||
