Default Mini DV Opinions

Hey everyone... income tax time, and I want to get a Mini DV Camera... I was looking at the Sony Mini DV DCR-TRV33. Has tons of nice features including touch screen menu controls and REALLY fast zooming. Does anyone have one of these, or a model like it? Or, if not, can anyone make some other recommendations? Thanks!

SOny just plain rox, you cant go wrong with their stuff man.
That is a very nice lil camcorder.

The playback quality on these things is amazing with just analog connections to TV, let alone S- Video, very clear and crisp.
THa cam u want is at AMazon for 6 bills sounds good.

I work at Best Buy... so I'm prolly gonna pick it up there... just in case anyone else works at best buy that's on these forums, I can't really tell the price.

This would be my first camcorder I've owned. My parents have one, but it's not digital. Now, I wouldn't need a video capture device of any kind, would I? Or is everything done through a fire wire port?

You can do anything through a firewire port. And just because I have been wondering, how much of a discount do you get if you work at Bestbuy?

it's very good some things it isn't very good... like with computer packages, the customer that gets the rebates are better than employee pricing. But other things are awesome, like accessories.

I work in the computer hardware department, but the DI (Digital Imaging) dept. is right across the way... but the thing is, the computer department is always busy, so I never get a chance to mess around without a manager walking by. So the only time I got to see the models is when I cover the dept. for someone's lunch.
