All right, Graphics Pimps and Pimpettes, listen up a sec...

I need your help. My graphics skills are more on par with crayons and paint-by numbers than some of you Sig Gurus, so here's the dealio:

Anyone who's seen my sig lately knows that I am remembering my fallen Brother-In-Arms, SSG Jason Butkus. He was killed on 30 August 2007, when an RPG punched through the side armor on his Hummvee. His driver and gunner sustained shrapnel wounds, but Jason took the brunt of the impact, and died on the way to the Combat Surgical Hospital in the Baghdad Green Zone.

If anyone would be willing to donate their time and skills, please post a reply in this thread.

I just thought about how assinine my previous comment about criteria for the sig might have come across... Please feel free to PM me with any questions (his awards, personal history, etc.) that you would like to know...

I edited the first post, since I thought about how assinine it was for me to presume to impose any sort of "criteria" on what is to be a memorial of sorts for my friend and brother, and not for me...

The delay in repIying was because I was waiting on a full list of his awards from Battalion, and here's what I got:

That thing is busy man! I can barely make out the awards and the wording with that overlay. just an FYI I'm not busting on you, I'm just helping

Knowing Jason as well as I do, this is something that is more along the lines of what he would find acceptable. He hated his dress greens. He is more of a field BDU kind of soldier. He does not like fancy, flashy things. He likes simple.

Wow, it's been a bit since I checked in on this thread...

Since then, however, I have managed to put together a little something on my own... Doodling in PS does end up teaching you a thing or two...

Any suggestions on improvements?

wow too much text, i realized the true amount of text involved after my first attempt and slimmed down on the second.

needs blending, i looks like a mspaint job, try some brushing and bluring

I don't think it's too much text, just needs to be smaller, and somehow high-lighted from the dark background....

And the images needs to be blended in...
