| I have a small (250 px tall) .gif image I want to enlarge to about 10 " and use as a etching on my window. I've tri8ed everythign I know of in PSP and cann't get it to the proper size without image degradation. I need it to have clean lines. What do you pimp suggest? | ||

| No easy way to fix that. It simply doesn't have the information needed for that kind of enlargement. I could do it. But it would entail completely recreating the image using the existing as a guide. I've worked with clients that absolutely had to have something like that done because they lost the original. We charged them a arm and a leg. One ad exec. is still washing my car on the weekends. ![]() | ||

| I have access to a rather nice CreoScitex scanner at work and could scan them at a higher res if you want to send the originals. It has already been said before but the best way to get it done is to redo it in Illustrator (or some other vector graphic solution). | ||

| it all depends on what you need it for, or the b/w or grayscale you want from it. this was just some photoshop techniques. mostly consisting of enlarging it, gausian bluring it, selecting the inside with an antialiased magic wand, filling a new layer, and repeating on the different "planes" of the image. it can be refined (this one is kinda half arsed). [edit] there isnt enough color information in any channel to get a nice selection. so ya gotta get alittle creative. [edit] i updated the picture with a revised scheme for etching Last edited by radakast; 11-November-03 at 04:35 PM.. | ||

| this one was actually really easy, and only took about 2 minutes. since the picture doesnt have any green, i selected the green channel (which showed the object as black an white, picked the magic wand with a 40 tollerance and antialised, and grabbed the black. went back to my rgb channel in the layers pallet and filled a new layer with black.. then touched up the wiskers. | and here is the second one (because its easier) taken into flash and modify>trace bitmap with a 100 color threshold and a 10 px minimum area, tight fit, normal corners applyed to it. *you can lower your threshold for tighter corners Last edited by radakast; 11-November-03 at 04:44 AM.. | ||
