I'm running Vista Ultimate on my PC and I have TONS of .mp3s (actually, they're mostly .flac files but, same difference). They all run just fine, with no errors.

Since you have a single GPU and don't need SLi, I presently don't see any reason you wouldn't upgrade.

For the economic route, grab Home Premium.

One step up from that would be Business.

If you've got the loot, then go for Ultimate so you can have all the bells and whistles.



Realize there is VERY little difference between Business and Ultimate. Here's a great comparison guide Microsoft has designed.

I'll tell you that if you like to customize your desktop and Windows interface, in general, I'd go with the ultimate. DreamScreens (a Vista Ultimate "Extra" which is in Beta right now) is a lot of fun. It lets you assign video loops to your Desktop Wallpaper. If you google "DreamScreens" you'll find some info.

ADD: Newegg has some great pricing for OEM versions of the OS. Just realize that you'd be buying 32-bit OR 64-bit. They don't come together, as is the case with the retail versions.

I said I was going to wait until I had more $ to pick up vista, but I got it anyway. I picked up the ultimate version, and I have to say its great.

I really like this OS and have a little to no problems with it.



Sorry, but i'll just throw this in here instead of making a new there. Does anyone know where you can download new gadgets for vista other than microsoft themselves?
