Is it possible to make an XP install disc from an OS already running?

I have the XP Pro key. If I wanted to totally wipe the drive and start from scratch is it possible to do it with the current XP key?

XP Pro/Home Keys are Universal to any XP Pro/Home discs.. as long as the key corresponds with the disc you can re-install. Making a disc from the OS already installed.. I don't think so.. not with any ease anyways.

A "Slip disc" is a different story though.

Here's my thoughts on this.......

It's not possible to create a windows cd from the installed OS.

As for your xp cd key. Unless you have the exact version for the key. It's chances are very good its going to fail registration. The key's change for the home verus pro edition as well as sp1 and sp2.

So before dropping the bomb on the hard drive. Id find out what what version it is and is it the key for that version of windows.
