Default Getting rid of unnecessary tasks

My computer has been going slower then normal. I checked task manager to see what was going on and noticed I have 58 tasks going. I used to know of a site that listed a lot of tasks and told what they did. So if anyone knows of a site like that that would be cool. Or if you know of some other ways to get rid if not needed tasks.

Start/Run then type msconfig...go to the startp tab and disable all...or leave ONLY the ones you think you might need or want like Antivirus, or possibly you sound/vid card stuff...you can usually tell what they are by looking at the driver name.

Yeah, what Necro said. If you're unsure of the name of a task, you can usually google it and figure out what it does...and disable it or leave it accordingly. It's a very good way to save precious RAM.

Woah Woah Woah.

Don't use msconfig... thats a no no i believe.

use services.msg in the run command.. that list tells you what each one does.

I'm trying to dig up a list of configs..
