I just downloaded a program for linux, but I dont know the command to run installations. Anyhelp would be great

Ok - it's really an amalgamation of Linus Torvalds and Unix but that's not important right now.

What kind of linux are you running? There are only about 10 variants.

What program did you download? It may need to be compiled - you got a compiler?

I did Unix in college. Unix suxs. Or rather - Unix is like driving an 18-wheeler: if you can find all the gears its a powerful force if you can't find all the gears its a two-ton statue in a parking lot.

Sorry I wasn't more help. Post some more info and one of the linux pimps may be able to tell ya more.

Red Hat Linux 9, and its the folding program for linux

If it's a .tar file, try tar -xzvf folding.tar (where folding.tar is the file name).

Otherwise, try hitting "THE Linux Thread" under "O/S Problems" under the forum menu... there is a ton of Linux related stuff there.
