It depends on whether the picture is emmbedded into BIOS, or if your talking about the windows loading screen. For BIOS theres appa that will take you BIOS info and replace the pic, and sometimes within the BIOS you can disable the full screen logo. For the XP loading page i know you can replace it buti don'tknow if you can get rid of it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| generally a bootscreen branding is embedded in the ntoskrnl which is the OS kernel itself you could extract the image with Resource Hacker and see if its there and possibly replace it but likely not from inside the same install your booted into . Startup screens . . . and for a BIOS mod look here > BIOSMods.com however if you screw up the BIOS your in real trouble without a dual BIOS or Flashback option [VP} - Branding/BIOS Last edited by Ice Czar; 28-January-07 at 10:13 PM.. | ||

| You need to be a bit more specific on whats going on here. I own an Acer 19" LCD monitor, and it says "Acer" when I turn it on. There is not a way to disable this, it is simply the startup/warmup pattern of the monitor. If it is an Acer branded computer system, it is possible to disable the full screen logo on startup, and it is safe to do so, AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT SETTINGS TO GO INTO, IN THE BIOS! Inside the BIOS will be an option to toggle between disabling or enabling the full screen logo and replace that with the standard POST screen of the computer. To my knowledge, usually this option is located in the Advanced settings of the BIOS. This Acer logo is not part of the OS load, and would not require editing the kernel. But if this is the case, what Ice Czar said, and the links he has provided, will work for you. I do not necessarily know how to edit the BIOS itself, nor is it recommended, but there are ways. The simple method would be just to go into the BIOS, and toggle the full screen logo settings. Of course, keep in mind that there is a risk to modding such files via third-party methods, whether it be the BIOS or the core of the OS. Hope this further helps. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | If you dont mind putting even a cheap card in an empty pci slot it dosent even have to work you could set your bios to boot the screen onto that card then in windows have it load onto your main card. I did that with my media center pc | |
