Default IE7 and that damn clicking noise...

I normally use FireFox as my browser. But I thought what the heck, I will try IE7 just for the heck of it. Now this is certainly not meant to start any kind of IE vs FireFox stuff, use whatever browser you like.

The first thing (click) that I notice is that it (click) makes a noise every time I change pages. (click) OK I thought, then (click) it started bugging the heck out of me! I looked around the options settings and could not find any way to get rid of the incessant clicking! I tried Google, and got this: http://blog.sc.tri-bit.com/archives/162 but that looked like a lot of work for a clicking noise! Control panel, Add/remove programs would be much easier...

But after a little more digging around, I found you can open the control panel, go to sounds and audio devices, go to the sounds part, and change the Windows Explorer navigation file to none. No more clicking noise! That noise alone would make me use another browser.

Have a good one, sorry if this has been posted previously.

Lol that would bug the hell out of me, I turn all the windows sounds off, nothing worse than that annoyingl;y happy startup tune in the middle of the night when you have the 5.1 turned right up.

If it would let me uninstall that damned Yahoo! search tool bar, maybe I'd use it more often but as it is, it won't uninstall it so....back to FireFox.

What Yahoo search tool are you talking about? I think I like FireFox better, but I have a Google search bar in IE7 just like FireFox.

It was already there when I upgraded to IE7. I don't want any search toolbar but it won't let me have that option.

Somewhat related / unrelated, but...

After I installed IE7 (to give it a chance, I guess), I started having the weirdest (read: irritating) crap start happening... Whenever I 2x clicked on any of my HDDs within the My Computer window, the screen would start flickering between the desktop and the MC window, the mouse pointer would go hourglass on me, and the only way to clear it would be to shut down completely. Now, if I right-clicked on any of the HDDs and selected OPEN or EXPLORE, no problems...

I scrapped IE7 until I get word that this has been ID'd and fixed...
