Installing programs to a jump drive?

Is there a simple way to install a program to a jump drive so I can use it on computers without having to install it? Basically the schools computers dont have aim and some other nifty programs and I would like to use them on the go.

I have 256mb to play around with.

Try this site. They have Firefox (1.5 and 2.0), Thunderbird, OpenOffice.org and many others. You can also try googleing for portable apps or usb apps. There are a lot out there. Good Hunting!

Nice enough for my school we get a network drive and can store pretty much unlimited stuff, all under agreement with out service terms. but i just installed firefox in there, as well asCPUzfor all the nice PC differences, although i've found that 90% of them are 3GHz prescotts (perfect if i can get F@H on them all)

but this is why i just bought a 2GB jump drive
so all my apps are in my hand
