Default Partition help needed

So... I got my hands on a copy of vista right, and i have an hp a465c but i dont want to run it as a primary OS, how do I partition my hd (100 gbs to spare) so that i can choose from a boot screen Windows Xp/ Vista. I already have a section partitioned of for rescure/recovery. please help me out, thanks

You should be able to do this from the vista install screen, failing that you could use a program such as partition magic which is well worth its weight in gold.

Gparted.
Free, easy to use and works perfectly for me every time.
You should back up first, but I have never had any problems with this app.

Works as well as Partition Magic, and it's free!!!!!

Im sure he is running windows, other wise I would reccomend qtparted. But thats kinda useless, since Linux (currently) cannot write to NTFS.

Partiton Magic would do fine if he is running windows.

Um, not trying to be rude, but your wrong.
GParted can write to NTFS. Read this.

I've used this utility to re-partition a windows hd several times, and it works fine.

Like I said, not trying to be offensive, but I would never recommend something to anyone without knowing for sure that it works.
