Default Boot CD with NTFS Support

Hey guys, I need to format my HDD on my dell inspiration 8200.
The person who owned this laptop before me has numerous OS installed that are damaged, I can't get windows 2000 nor XP to format the hard drive in NTFS as it needs files on the hard drive to install. This is me booting off the cd too. I know its weird.

I would like to know if anyone knows of a Boot CD that has NTFS hard drive support. Please help as I am stuck and will be waiting for your responces.

Quick and Easy:

FDISK (Delete all partitions and start over with one new Partition)
FORMAT IN FAT32
PUT XP DISK IN AND BOOT
QUICK NTFS FORMAT

You should be good to go.

Also you can always FDISK the /MBR in case that is somewhat corrupted

You can create a Bootable CD Rom that will act just like a Bootable Floppy in order to do this....would require a burner and a black cd-rom...I've seen it done.

you can make a bootable cdrom out of any CDR/CDRW:
get Nero and make a "bootable data disk"

i ran into this problem with my hp laptop...i had to yank the hard drive out, go to compusa and bu a 699 adapter thingy so that i could put my laptop HD in my desktop, boot with a win xp cd, format the mofo and install it, then put it back into the laptop and have it recognize all the hardware from the laptop....it was a b**ch, but it works like a champ now....
