XP pro no sound! help quick please!

ok, my sound dosent work anymore, my speekers work fine, but no sound. my volume isnt muted or turned down. all i did was install my new webcame drivers, and upgraded to the newest aim...but no more sound, i even did a xp restore...any help on this one? i have win xp pro

Is it turned on?

Tab->HARDWARE
DEVICE MANAGER
--Sound, video and game controllers--

I have heard tales of the new AIM being buggy so that could potentially be part of your problem as well.

iv already uninstalled aim, and my new camera...my sound is on and windows says its working...aim worked before, but i reinstalled windows like a week ago, and hadnt updated aim till today...

Double click the volume control mixer thingy and make sure nothing is muted, make sure the speakers are plugged in, and check if there are any (!)'s in the device manager

double check all your connectors off the sound card.

speekers are in fine
no device manager problems...im playing a cd through my cdrom as i type...im not sure...but could my on board sound (what i was using) have just puked?

alrighty...i got the newest drivers and she seems to be workin again...i wonder what corupted my drivers...
