Default Blaster Worm

How do you get rid of it, somehow on a new install I already have it, for something that has affected so many computers its hella hard to find how to remove and patch it.

Can someone post some links quick

Edit: some hyperlinks like www.google.ca wont work for me for whatever reason making it even harder to update my computer and get rid of this.

I thought this blaster thing was something that took advantage of some flaws in windows xp that needed to be patched? Or is it a virus? Because after a fresh win xp install I had it too and needed to do the patch etc.

Cassemodder when i try to install that i get that error, you would think with over 1.5 million computers infected with this there would be a big ****ing red button on the microsoft homepage that says "FIX BLASTER WORM" instead im playing follow the white rabbit. Like wtf...

That's why when you do a fresh install you should do a backup of all the programs and patches before even trying to go on the internet. Since your still on a new install ynot just reformat again and patch it up + install service pack 1 Then download anti-virus defs. That's what i do all the time & i have never got affected yet

...and heaven help you! ive ne er known blaster infected that quickly. Id agree with ^^^. You need a fresh install. The order of installing i do is this:

-win xp
-norton systemworks (+antivirus)
-norton internet secturity
-office xp
-photo editing software
-Ultities (cd burning, dvd playing)
- internet updates

that way i have interent security ready for any little bugger that tries, and norton update is the first to be updated.
