Default Neat way to monitor temps.....

I recently discovered CoolMon. Now before anyone says read the old threads - I am aware there are old thread about this. Just letting new pimps know about what you old guys have known about for awhile.

http://coolmon.arsware.org/

Go to the above site and check it out - basically it gives you update stats on your desktop that can be configured anyway you want. There is also built in support for MBM (Motherboard Monitor). If you have MBM configured correctly you can have it keep track of your temps in real time on your desktop - great googlie mooglie thats handy. Its highly configurable if you have the time or you can just change the background to transparent and change the color of the text, move it where you like and let it be. You can keep track of almost anything:

* Processor usage (up to four CPU's)
* Number of Processes
* Number of Threads
* Process using the most CPU time
* Processor type
* Used/Free/Total page file
* Used/Free/Total RAM
* Free/Total/Grand Total Disk space (up to sixteen disks, also mapped network drives)
* Computer Uptime
* Date & Time
* Computer name
* User name
* All IP addresses
* Network read and write speed (up to four NICs)
* Total Bytes sent and received
* Battery status

Been running it by itself on my laptop - stable. Also been using it in conjunction with MBM on my desktop - stable. This allowed me to get rid of the Intel Active program I was using to track temps with - this is really handy and its free....check it out.

On my latop it says about 4mb but it probably depends on how its configured. Also note that you should not have MBM running with this - its uses necessary DLL files from MBM to get the info, you do not need to actually leave MBM running. They actually recommend against it. So if you are using MBM you can save memory by shutting it down.....not sure how much MBM takes.
