| Apex Techie I | Would it/ Is it possible to password folders through win xp pro? I don't want to make seperate profiles, as often I leave things downloading on my profile, while others want to surf the net. I am almost sure it is possible to password folders, I could have sworn I have seen a friend do it. How? Regards, Divine Kaos | |

| Ok, I have Win Home, but it has the feature listed, just greyed out. Right click the folder/file, go to properties, click the advanced button, then use the encryption options. Beyond that I can't expound on, seeing as how I don't have the feature, but after there you should be able to figure it out. | ||

| depends on the folder. On my XP Pro for the My Documents folder on the boot partition I click on the properties of the folder and then on the Security tab and set permissions from there. This does not work for all folders though so check out which ones it does work for and move your private stuff there. | ||
